Hey, Charming!

Known to locals as the magical island full of diverse culture, history, and glorious good food, Penang has everything to offer to the wanderlust traveler.

Being in Penang myself recently for a short getaway, I came across a couple of gems that should be in anyone's travel itinerary from now on if it hasn't already been.

Here is the list of my personal favorites:

1 | Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm

A word of caution to all who enter Entopia, get ready to be hit with severe Disney princess fever.

Located in the northern part of Penang island, this two storey butterfly farm/interactive insect museum does double duty as a sweet dating spot for couples as well as a place for some family fun time together. Entopia's living garden, which features more than 200 species of plants and over 15,000 free-flying butterflies with waterfalls, ponds, caves, and other artistic garden features, guarantees that every picture taken here will be one that is as memorable as is "like"-able. Que the heart emojis please ~

Entopia by Penang Butterfly Farm: No.830, Jalan Teluk Bahang, Teluk Bahang, 11050, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia | Opens daily except Wednesdays from 9am – 5pm | Admission fees required (book here)

2 | Norm Micro Roastery

This one goes pretty much without saying.

Situated in Penang Georgetown close to several tourist locations such as Fort Cornwallis and the Penang Peranakan Mansion just to name a few, this tiny corner cafe house is both stunning to look at and to photograph. The interior which mimics an actual outdoor garden with real trees and park benches is a work of art. No wonder the lines are always long outside this cafe just to get a spot.

Norm Micro Roastery: 13, Gat Lebuh Gereja, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia | Opens daily from 9am – 10pm

3 | Batu Ferringhi Beach

To have the beach and sea in sight and within your grasp, what can be more instagrammable than that?

Plan a picnic with your pals or try capturing the sunset, either way, Batu Ferringhi beach works well for those searching for that picture-perfect #travelgoals post.

Batu Ferringhi Beach: Ayer Itam, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

4 | Rabbit Softserve @ Padang Kota

Here lies another one of the famous hotspots in Penang. You've got to the love the whitewashed storefront and cute reflection mirror at the entrance which have had dozens of Instagrammers swarming to this place day and night only but for a picture.

Rabbit Softserve: Pusat Bayaran Setempat, Jalan Padang Kota Lama, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia | Opens daily except Tuesdays from 10am - 7pm

5 | Tan Clan Jetty

If you have a love for jetties, here's one you should definitely visit.

Among the six Penang jetties, Tan Clan Jetty is by far the most charming one. It is also the easiest of all the above-recommended places to take a good picture. Even with amateurish photography skills, one can take beautiful pictures here simply with a click of a button.

Tan Clan Jetty: 152-102, Lebuh Victoria, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia

That's all for today. See you next time! :)

Sending lots of love,

Selene
