Hey, Charming!
Bricks & Bread just opened its doors last month to the public. One of the many bakery-cafes mushrooming around Klang Valley, this particular BC can be found on the bustling streets of Jalan Kamunting, Chow Kit, amongst the row of converted shop lots.
From the outside, Bricks & Bread's aesthetic reminded me of beach houses in Miami (vaguely recalls watching television shows; I haven't actually travelled there) with their wide glass panel windows, whitewashed bricks and pebble flooring. The cafe occupies two floors and caters to both indoor and outdoor seating. No reservation is required to dine in there but I would suggest calling ahead to inform if you are coming in a larger group.

Depending on when you visit Bricks & Bread, the cafe serves two menus, one for the morning "Breakfast" and the other for the afternoon "Lunch." Bricks & Bread does not offer dinner service as the place closes after 5 pm.
We made it to Bricks & Bread a little after noon so there was only the Lunch menu available then. A small lunch crowd was gathered there but we quickly found seats by the high table facing the window.

At Bricks & Bread, ordering is super convenient. We were instructed to scan the QR code on the table to view the cafe's virtual menu. After taking a moment to browse through, we placed an order for their seafood Laksa stew with toast (RM38) and the sourdough Vege pizza (RM28). For drinks, I went for a standard Latte (RM12) and ordered an extra Hazelnut latte (RM15) to go.
Bricks & Bread's service is relatively quick. We waited around 10 - 15 minutes for our food to arrive.

So what are my thoughts?
I personally preferred the seafood Laksa stew over the pizza.
The former had a good broth made from fresh ingredients like prawns, fish and clams. The cafe was generous enough and gave us a sizable helping of the seafood which I thoroughly enjoyed. The dipping bread that came along with the stew was equally tasteful; it was thick and dense but not dry.
The latter, however, was a first for me. I've tried sourdough bread, sourdough croissants and sourdough doughnuts, but I've never had sourdough pizza before. When I tasted the pizza, the sourness was striking, not something you would expect your average pizza to taste like.

However, the bread itself was thick and soft. The texture of it was similar to that of a mochi. If you like thin-crusted pizzas, this might not be for you. Also considering that this was a Vege pizza, the toppings were quite lacking. We felt the cheese was not rich enough and more could be added to improve the overall flavours.
For the most part, Bricks & Bread was a decent experience. Would I consider revisiting? If food prices were less steep and some newer and more interesting items were added to the menu, maybe.
